While many schools focus on rote learning, we focus on building real Academic English skills. Skills that empower students to excel in any English-based subject or exam — for life. Our programs are designed to close this critical gap and prepare students for lasting academic success.
At ELI, all educational materials are expertly curated to support a skills-based learning approach.
Content is regularly updated to match current exam standards and evolving academic demands. An experienced content creator designs resources tailored to our students, all of which are thoroughly reviewed by our Academic Director. No lesson is ever repeated, and students receive free worksheets with answers for ongoing practice and reinforcement.
ELI also implements Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) across all courses. CLIL is an innovative educational approach in which both fictional and non-fictional topics are taught through a non-native language—primarily English. This methodology allows learners to acquire subject knowledge and language skills simultaneously.
The benefits of CLIL are well-documented and include increased confidence in using a non-native language, enhanced cognitive and academic performance, improved communication skills, and a deeper understanding of intercultural and community values. Research also supports the effectiveness and flexibility of CLIL, particularly for young learners, in developing proficiency across all four key language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Our Academic Director, who is a teacher trainer herself, conducts monthly training sessions to continuously enhance our teachers’ skills and maintain the highest teaching standards. All our teachers are graduates of international schools and bring firsthand experience with the First Language syllabus. Having completed IGCSE and Pearson Edexcel exams themselves, they possess a deep understanding of exam requirements and are well-equipped to teach Second Language learners mastering First Language Academic English.
Our lessons are thoughtfully designed around the exams students most commonly take—both in schools and international board settings. We believe that consistent practice, combined with sustained momentum, empowers students to perform at their best. When students build confidence in their skills, improved results naturally follow. That’s why every lesson is crafted to provide maximum targeted practice and skill reinforcement.
Classes at ELI run for 1.5 hours and are structured to include teaching, guided practice, and review. We focus a lot on review & have thus adopted an IELTS-style approach to teaching First Language English (FLE), recognizing that many of our students are Second Language speakers learning to master First Language skills. This method offers a clear, practical framework that accelerates learning and ensures maximum efficiency and retention.
At ELI, we believe that keeping parents informed is essential to building trust and fostering student success. To ensure transparency, a detailed monthly report and marksheet are shared with all parents, providing clear insight into their child’s progress and performance. Our online portal also features a live progress tab, allowing both students and parents to track academic development in real time. We value open communication between teachers, students, parents, and administration, and welcome feedback at any time. A dedicated feedback form is available on our website, and parents are encouraged to reach out directly to the Principal or Academic Director.
All new students at ELI are required to take a 45-minute entrance exam designed to assess their proficiency and determine the most suitable class level. Our exam is a unique amalgamation of the GL Assessment, Oxford Placement Test, and elements of the IB curriculum—specially crafted to pinpoint your child’s strengths and areas for improvement.
Upon completion, parents receive a detailed, downloadable result sheet along with our expert recommendations for academic growth. This ensures you have full clarity on your child’s current level and learning needs. To get started, simply enroll and schedule the entrance exam for the level your child wishes to join.
